While I was the Head of Morgue Specialization Branch of Forensic Medicine Institution, in fact, I was surprised and even startled to hear that a painter requesting to enter into autopsy room and watch the autopsy process. Till then, many people from different disciplines entered into autopsy room for training and observation purposes, but it was the first time I heard such a request from a painter to get inspiration for her future paintings. I could only understand the passage between some experiences as seeing painted versions of human organs and tissues in anatomy atlas or encountering with a real human cadaver which may be cold or unattractive for many people, and the art of painting, after I saw Lolita Asil’s works. Only then, I could realize that with an artist view, we could see very different things on inanimate bodies tens of which we carefully look at everyday and see or try to see something.

For me, these figures which seem to have accepted that their life had been frozen for a certain period both in autopsy rooms and in anatomy atlases, are the works with certain qualities proving that they can be provided life energy. Paintings depicting rather than body’s structure; human genesis, existence and disappearance, but that it has in fact not disappeared…
